The decision makers have heard your opposition to an outdoor pool in Mount Pleasant Park!  On Wednesday, City Council voted not to fund this pool for the next 4 years.
 
This is the victory we set out for, so thank you for signing the petition, and especially to those who sent emails and made phonecalls. We know standing up for things you believe in takes time and effort, so thank you.
 
But it’s not entirely over. The people who want to see the pool built have been going for +12 years, and we need to ensure the park is permanently taken out of consideration for an outdoor pool.
 
We will do what we can on our end to make sure this happens. We’ve got a plan.
 
We might need your help again over the next few years, and would like to provide you with occasional updates about the park/pool. So please:

• join our Friends of Mount Pleasant Park FB group, and
• email pleasantparkfriends@icloud.com (we promise never to share your information with anyone for any purpose; we will only send you information related to Mount Pleasant Park).

Oh – and Mount Pleasant Park Festival is back (outdoor movie night, yes!) on July 16th from 6-11pm. So be sure to stop by the paddling pool and tell the Pool Committee what you love about the park and why you are opposed to the pool!
