Hello Everyone,
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. (Margaret Mead)
We have heard directly from a City Councillor that they are surprised by the number of emails they’ve received in opposition to the proposed Mount Pleasant Park pool. Thank you – this is exactly what we need if we have any hope of stopping this proposal.
We need one last push before recommendations for funding go before the City Councillors, and this time we need to target the Park Board Commissioners. As these Commissioners prepare their list of funding priorities to send to the City, let’s tell them to remove the proposed Mount Pleasant Park pool from that list.
Here’s how easy this is:
Send an email right now to pbcapitalplan@vancouver.ca. Make a simple statement like “Dear Park Board Commissioners, I am opposed to the Mount Pleasant Park pool proposal” or “Dear Park Board Commissioners, I do not want a pool developed in Mount Pleasant Park”. Or feel free to copy in the text you sent previously in your correspondence to City Councillors and Park Board Commissioners (because you’ve already sent an email, right?).
850 of you have signed this petition in opposition to the proposed pool. Imagine flooding the pbcapitalplan@vancouver.ca with 850 emails of opposition on the last Friday of their engagement period. We can do this!
