Save Melwood

Liverpool Football Club intends to build up to 160 dwellings on its Melwood training ground once it moves out in 2020. This will not only lead  to additional traffic in the area that is already at breaking point in terms of traffic levels and pollution but will also put an extra strain on our oversubscribed schools and other essential services. It will also mean the loss of more green space with Liverpool FC also intending to demolish its world class facilities which include a twenty metre swimming pool and other fantastic amenities that our local community could access. We ask that Liverpool FC take into account the local community when drawing up their plans. We see over-development as a high risk, especially as other developments are also being considered nearby. We feel our concerns should be addressed and that any proposal should not increase the pressure on our infrastructure, which is already at breaking point.
