Stockport Council are in the process of reviewing a planning application to keep The Garden House in Marple open.
The application is for change of use of land to a mixed use consisting of an urban farm and educational facility, together with the retention of associated buildings, structures and parking areas (retrospective)
The Garden House Farm is one of the few visitor attractions in Marple, a highlight for the general public, local schools and nurseries.
Attractions include: animals, a café with a 4 star hygiene rating, an OFSTED inspected nursery, playgrounds, countryside trails and an orchard.
The Farm offers significant economic, social and environmental benefits to the local community and relies solely on donations made by visitors, the main attractions are free to all.
