The lack of security in public parks has to come to an end. There has been many people complaining about the parks being full of homeless people sleeping on children playgrounds and in public restrooms. There has also been a lot of camping and disruption in the community. Public parks are for the PUBLIC to spend time with family, work out or just to take a walk to enjoy the beauty of the park. Now this is not possible due to the lack of security enforcing laws that prevent homeless and any other type of disruption to allow the public to enjoy themselves in a safe environment. Another huge problem is the public littering; this has been happen for several years now. Many people leave their trash on the ground and don’t mind picking it up and throwing it away in an appropriate garbage can.

This has not only happened in a couple of parks, this is happening at many public parks all around LA, especially in hazardous communities like South LA, Rampart Village or even Westlake. Parks like La Fayette, McArthur, Harvard, Jesse Owens and Van Ness are the ones most affected with the lack of security and environmental awareness. These parks tend to be trashed and unsafe for the community. There has been shootings, kidnapping, the selling and use of drugs, and aggressive disruption at these public locations which make it unsafe for families and the community surrounding it. Therefore something has to be done to make these public locations more safe for the community and environment.

We are implying a tougher security such as cameras or more park rangers at these locations. This is needed in order to stop the violence and bad influence that others give to the upcoming generations. These are also needed to stop the kidnapping and the drug dealing. A change is needed at these public locations and action is needed rapid as possible. Wouldn’t you like a safe environment for you and your loved ones?
