Prevent unacceptably high density housing and save garages at Bittern Way, Letchworth, UK

North Hertfordshire District Council has received a planning permission application to demolish much-needed existing garages and build in their place a block of 13 new flats 'with associated parking' next to Bittern Way, a block of flats in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire. (Case Ref No: 17/00905/1)
The proposal, if approved by the Council, would lower the quality of life for existing residents at Bittern Way in two ways: adding another large building in an already highly built-up area will create an uncacceptable high density of housing. Increasing the number of residents, even if 13 new parking places are created, will also put further strain on an already congested parking area next to Bittern Way, and the proposal to demolish the existing garages will only exacerbate the parking problem even more.
You can view the plans and submit comments by visiting the Council's website using the Planning online facility: http://pa.north-herts.gov.uk/online-applications (search for 17/00905/1). Registration is needed the first time you comment, but this will allow continued use of the system for tracking the application.
Please help support existing Bittern Way residents by registering and commenting at the Council's site address above, or write to Simon Ellis, Development & Conservation Manager, North Hertfordshire District Council, PO Box 480, Sale, M33 0DE. Please also sign and share this petition via social media. Thank you!
The deadline to submit comments is 24 May 2017. Please don't delay!
