Coach John Pate was relieved of his duties as the Head Varsity Football Coach at Hilliard High School. When he took the job the program had 18 kids 9th - 12th grade on the roster. Since then he has turned it into a 50+ kid roster. In 2021 he lead Hilliard to being the only playoff eligible program in Nassau County as well as the only winning record. Since his arrival to the program there have been multiple kids with athletic scholarships. The school board made an “executive decision” to allow him to teach but not coach. This man has earned the respect of these young men and needs to remain as their leader.
