The sale of Claysville Junior High School in Guntersville, Alabama. Many of the former students still remember being told of their grandparents, great grandparents, neighbors and friends collecting fieldstone rocks from Lake Guntersville and the surrounding area to construct the building around 93 years ago. To this day, many of the former students can still recollect how the school was and still is a symbol of unity, love and the heartbeat of this community north of Guntersville. Everyone from the teachers, principals, teacher aides, janitors, substitute teachers, secretaries, bus drivers, lunchroom ladies etc... gave such love and devotion to these children north of the river and showed us what kind and loving people we could be become and that we mattered. For it to be in peril of being sold and torn down for the love of money and be replaced with another condominium, high priced housing project or commercial property on Lake Guntersville has left us heartbroken. Let's save our school.
