This petition has been created to ensure that Bathampton Manor Residential Home, a historic building remains a property dedicated to serve the needs of the community as a care facility. The Manor dates back to the 18th century and is a beautiful building in lovely sweeping grounds.

The Residential Home, owned by BCVS was closed in September 2021 having served as a nursing home for over 50 years and was put up for sale. A private buyer has put in a planning application pre sale completion to change its use to a private residence and turn this noble building into a gated mansion with ballroom and billiard room. This group is set up to stop this application and find a backer to buy the home and create a Palliative Care Home which is so needed in Bath. I know this through personal experience looking after my mother who has lung cancer.
Dorothy House provides a fantastic service at home but have only 10 beds in their hospice at Winsley. We want to create a Hospice in Bathampton. With the help of the council, investors, charity funding and a press campaign we can turn a spotlight on this issue. So please spread the word and help stop this travisty and help save the Home! We need PR, support from the council and charitable investors.
