Within L.A. County there is a large number of homeless animals, which leads to negative consequences for citizens and animals. There are 8-10 million dogs and cats entering shelters each year. 4-5 million are euthanized and 3-5 million are adopted/rescued. Each day 10,000 humans are born in the U.S. and each day 70,000 puppies and kittens are born. As long as these birth rates among animals exist, there will never be enough homes for all the animals. PLEASE HELP BRING AWARENESS TO THIS CAUSE. We want L.A. County to increase community awareness regarding adoption/fostering, licensing, spay/neuter procedures, informing people of their options (and creating more) when they can no longer care for a pet (rescue / no kill shelters as opposed to abandoning their pets) and reduce adoption/licening fees by 25%.
