This petition is to end the unnecessary province wide lockdown restrictions that affects the Algoma district. As a municipality we should have the right to decide whether or not the lockdown is necessary for our district. At the time of the province wide lockdown the Algoma district had only 13 active cases of COVID 19 and 0 people hospitalized because of the virus. This puts Algoma's case per hundred thousand of population at about 17.71 cases per 100000 (given the Saults population set @ 73,368  people in total) the provincial average is 76 cases per 100000. As the data clearly shows we are well behind the provincial average in case counts and have nobody in the hospital because of the virus. The provincial wide lockdown should not apply to our district since our districts numbers are nowhere near the provincial numbers. Locking down Algoma is unnecessary and unjustified.
