THIS IS NOT AN ANTI-MASK PETITION, IT IS A PETITION SUPPORTING THE RIGHT OF PARENTS TO CHOOSE! 

As you have have heard, the NYS Department of Health (DOH) will NOT be issuing reopening guidance for schools. The DOH has advised that In lieu of any official guidance, the new CDC guidelines should be reviewed and considered by districts. 
Historically, school districts have looked to the state for ownership of guidance regulating public health issues. 
This petition requests that the ownership sit with the parents of students and that the district default to parents’ preference with regard to mask wearing in our public school buildings.
By signing this petition, you assert that your family’s health is top priority to you and that no state or local agency will control the choices you make with regards to the health and well-being of your family.
Whomever so chooses to mask their children for 8+ hours per school day, 5 days per week may continue to do so…and you respect their right as a parent to choose. The petition respectfully requests that the school district afford us the same right to choose to OPT OUT of mandated mask wearing. #mychildmychoice
