Saugeen Shores is plagued by hard drug trafficking, violent crime, vehicle thefts and home invasions.  Along with many other illegal activities commonly associated with drug trafficking.  

Often when these arrests are made, they are accompanied by the discovery of illegally obtained firearms or other weapons. 

A great number of these arrests are of individuals already on conditions from previous offences.  (Repeat offenders)  

The amount of Fentanyl , Meth, and Opioids that circulate here is alarming.  

Having these individuals remaining anonymous does nothing to build a strong Community Watch program, or to deter them from nesting here where they are relatively sheltered and allowed to prey on our citizens. 

These chronic repeat offenders are a burden on our community and pose a risk to our families and neighbours.

I am presenting this petition to ask the Saugeen Shores Police Services Board to name these individuals involved in crimes of this nature in their media releases.   

I feel it is a great injustice to our community to allow persons responsible for behaviours of this kind , to be afforded protection from being named and identified.  

Why should the tax paying residents of Saugeen Shores support the protection of dangerous and repeat offenders? 

Why should someone whom violates your rights , and threatens your safety be afforded anonymity?

Why should someone who traffics poisonous and deadly substances to our youth and vulnerable be allowed to operate here like a masked phantom ?

If your home was robbed or your possessions stollen, is it acceptable that the criminals responsible remain unknown to you and they are allowed to continue living right here amongst us without consequence of being known to the very persons whom they have violated? 

 
I feel , and hopefully you do too, that by naming and identifying these individuals we will make Saugeen Shores a less desirable target for criminals by removing their ability to operate here without being noticed or known. 

By alerting and informing or residents they will be afforded the opportunity to better  aid and support our local police force to bolster a strong community watch and more easily identify criminal activity , drug trafficking and drug manufacturing operations.
