In a very uninformed council meeting this morning (June 22nd), town staff recommended to move Sauble Beach into Stage 2. Town Staff were not asked to speak on the subject or to their recommendation to open the beach up to current provincial guidelines.
Council defeated that recommendation and voted to close Sauble Beach indefinitely. A decision that will decimate local businesses.
I have never seen a council so uninformed in all my years in business and local politics.
During this apparent "disastrous" trial period of 3 weeks of a very limited opening, there were ZERO increase in cases or deaths in the region. NONE.
Please support this petition to OPEN Sauble Beach so the vocal minority doesn't decide for the entire community.
