Wyatt Arriaga started this petition to SAU9 and

Unjustly let go just a week before the start of Basketball Season at Kennett High School, beloved JV Head Coach & Varsity Assistant, Boonie Stapinski was let go via text from our Athletic Director; Neal Weaver sighting no reasonable explanation. Coach Stapinski is an ambassador to the basketball community here in the Mt. Washington Valley and the student athletes of the Kennett High School Basketball Program are demanding answers. He has given everything he has to our student athletes in the community since I've known him. Coach Stapinski was my first ever basketball coach as a volunteer at John Fuller, and now I'm playing College Basketball due to his encouragement & guidance over the past 6 years, a feat only a select few Kennett graduates have achieved. My concern is that without him these guiding principles that have advanced my basketball career won't be available to the student-athletes that will follow. His dedication to all our student athletes will be missed. Training sessions after hours, year around work outs, and a constant reminder to stay in the lab. Always doing his best to make gym time available or meeting us at the Park. During the season Coach arrived to the school at 2pm to set up for JV practice and would not leave the facilities until after Varsity Practice at 8:30pm. Coach would coordinate film sessions and supervise weight room activities between practices. It's very difficult to win in Divison 2 basketball: How could we abandon this resource that has elevated not only the success of Kennett High School Basketball but each one of my peers individually as they decide their futures into adulthood.
