Meadowlark Dog Park Petition

Meadowlark Dog Park Petition

We the undersigned, respectfully request Saskatoon City Council to designate the fenced in area to the south of Meadowlark Trail area, a Neighborhood Off-Leash Dog park.
Specifically, this is the fenced in, grassy area between Circle Drive South, and Meadowlark Trail. This area runs from the south of Meadowlark park, to the Southernmost point of Deborah Crescent.
This area is unusable for development due to an underground, high pressure, natural gas pipeline that runs along the length of this area. This area is already maintained by the City of Saskatoon, and would only require a provision of ten (10) 42" chain link gates, three (3) garbage receptacles and a standard City of Saskatoon off-leash dog park sign package. Meadowlark trail runs along a current garbage route, easily facilitating this process.
This area has been used locally, by many locals for the purpose of dog-walking for decades, and is relatively secluded (back alley access only), safe (being fenced), and convenient for local community members. There will be no provision for parking, as this park is accessed in a "walk-in" fashion only. As such, it will not attract undue traffic.
