We, the undersigned, oppose the proposal and construction of four-story apartment building on Tecumseh Road as incompatible in scale and character with its surroundings.

Rosati Construction a development firm, proposes to build a 55 unit, four-story apartment complex as well as 22 townhomes on the north side of Tecumseh Road at its intersection with Dorset Park, directly overlooking St. Andre's Catholic Elementary School.

The majority of the residences in these neighborhoods are single-story, owner occupied, and the density averages 2 to 4 units-per- dwelling. Rosati, however, proposes to construct 77 units on enough land to accommodate 10 dwellings (by current plot standards).

As residents of Tecumseh, we support the building of housing in character with our neighborhoods, and consistent with the guiding principles of our city's general plan: Importantly, new development is sensitive in its design and is compatible in scale and character with its surroundings.

This petition is supported by concerned citizens, and urges the City of Tecumseh to reject the proposal for mid-density zoning, in favor of maintaining our property values and quality of life, consistent density and height of housing in our neighborhood, assuring adequate parking, and minimizing traffic congestion.
