STOP THE CLOSURE of the Learning & Development Clinic @ Edmonton Grey Nuns Hospital

0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,500!

600 vulnerable children are being displaced or discharged from the Learning and Development Clinic in Edmonton's Grey Nuns Hospital.

The families are all dealing with children with developmental or learning disabilities (i.e. ADHD, other mental health disorders, etc)

The children see psychiatrists, psychologists and other therapists that work as a team to support them and their families.

With no warning, AHS has come in and told the staff that the clinic is closing by August 31, 2017. The instructions are to discharge as many patients as possible and the rest will be transferred to the Edmonton East Health Centre. However, the staff is not being transferred and the Edmonton East Health Centre will not be gaining any additional staff to deal with the additional patients.

Our son has severe ADHD and with the recent referral to the Grey Nuns Learning and Development Clinic in January, we were finally making some positive progress We were struggling under the care of our pediatrician for over a year prior to enrolment in the clinic. Changing doctors and therapists by moving to the consolidated program at the Edmonton East Health Centre will be like starting over for our family and we have no idea how long the wait times will be at the new clinic.
