UBC announced that we will be going back to campus on February 7th. This may result in a big inconvenience to many students, especially those who have not been able to book tickets back to Canada on such short notice, and those who prefer not to go to campus as they want to stay safe from Covid-19 or protect their household. On top of that, some students will inevitably catch Covid at some point and will have to isolate. As a result, these students will miss lectures, which they could easily attend at home. They will ultimately be at a disadvantage as they will miss a lot of covered content, and in some cases, miss participation points. UBC is a leading university that has sufficient resources to record its lectures. This petition is to ask UBC to make recordings of all classes obligatory.
