Allow Teachers to Negotiate Contracts

Teachers do not have any input into the terms and conditions of their contracts.  This year's contract has some very bad language and terms, including a clause stating that teacher pay can be cut if attendance drops.

We demand this contract be reworked with teacher input.  Before the new contract is presented to the governing board it should be voted on by a panel of teachers, parents, community members and administrators.

We would like to have any language regarding cutting teacher salaries to be removed.

The 2% cost of living increase needs to be changed to a 6.5% raise.

We would also like the district to absorb some of the costs of insurance premiums, reducing the almost $800 total for vision, dental and medical combined for families down to $250.
