Keep 4 Block Schedule at Citrus County High Schools

Crystal River High School is changing its schedule from four blocks per semester to seven blocks schedule for the whole year. If this happens, students will have to keep up with work in seven classes instead of just four. In a study out of North Carolina, research has found that students are more productive and have higher achievement levels using a four block schedule. See it here: North Carolina Block Schedule Study There will also be a problem with credits, classes and early graduation. With a period schedule, students will not be able to earn credits as quickly which could effect graduation dates. Also, if students want to change classes or electives, this will be harder to do as classes will now rotate less often. - Anthony Harchick
