POSTPONE the IN-PERSON Graduation Ceremony for the SRVUSD Class of 2020 Seniors

The SRVUSD Class of 2020 deserves a graduation ceremony.

We, seniors, have already lost our prom, senior trip, and many other festivities. This is all totally understandable if it means that we are preventing the spread of COVID-19 and potentially saving lives. However, not having a graduation ceremony is as though all of the hard work we have put in these past 13+ years of schooling has been ignored. And, again, we all understand why our graduation ceremony cannot happen on its originally planned date. For this reason, we want the SRVUSD Board of Education to postpone the graduation ceremony instead of canceling it. Even if it is a year late, we all just want the in-person ceremony that we, as well as our friends and families, were all looking forward to the most.

In regards to an online graduation ceremony being an option, we feel that it is a bit insincere, and would much rather have a very late, in-person graduation ceremony. We would rather wait for the moment in which we can proudly walk the stage and hold an in-person graduation ceremony with our friends and fellow classmates rather than hold it virtually.

Sign this petition to give the hardworking SRVUSD Class of 2020 the graduation ceremony they deserve.
