STOP COSTCO'S PLAN TO BUILD A 32-PUMP MEGA GAS STATION NEAR HOMES IN SAN RAMON!!  SPECIAL MEETING TODAY, 2/11/21 AT 6PM

***Speakers, letters, email messages needed, please see details below***

Costco, the #2 retailer in the world, bought the land across the street from its Danville warehouse store, and wants to tear down the Office Depot store that's there now so it can build what would be the largest gas station in Northern California.  The plan calls for Costco to dispense up to 34.5 million gallons of gasoline a year...with close to 10-thousand cars per day filling up at the station!!

Homes are just a half block away, and residents would receive the carbon monoxide fumes from idling cars and the gasoline fumes that escape from the pumps.  Additionally, the thousands of extra cars will create a traffic nightmare.  Home values in the area could suffer.

There are already eight other gas station within two miles, run by independent owners, who could be driven out of business if Costco is allowed to build its mega-station.  Costco is already planning to build a warehouse store and gas station in Pleasanton, just nine miles away.

We don't need more gas stations, especially at a time when the move is away from fossil fuels!

The San Ramon Planning Commission approved Costco's plan, blindly trusting Costco's "experts," and has now passed this on to the City Council, which will hold a special meeting on the issue on Thursday, February 11th, 2021 at 6pm (PST).

Dear San Ramon City Council:

I am adamantly OPPOSED to the planned building of Costco’s 32 pump gas station on Fostoria Way, San Ramon, CA. It will create more traffic, noise and congestion. The emissions from thousands of vehicles, not to mention Costco’s gasoline trucks, will be toxic to our health. This is definitely not a good use of commercial land.

Sincerely,

(Type your name here)

Please stand up to corporate bullying.  Local neighborhoods must not be invaded by Costco!!  Say "NO" to the mega-station!!
