HELP Us Stop Even More Congestion on San Ramon Valley Blvd And Keep Our City Safe

Our Planning Commission has been hearing negotiations to add an 11,650 square foot private school for over 200 kids and a 23,000 square foot - 54 bed memory care facility to San Ramon Valley Blvd at the site of Church of the Valley.  The land is being subdivided and the developer plans to build a memory care facility on the portion they purchase and will also build a school on the portion retained by Church of the Valley.

A conservative estimate by the developer, is that this project will add approximately 600 additional traffic trips to an already congested San Ramon Valley Boulevard.

San Ramon Valley Blvd is already the main thoroughfare for Cal High School, Neil Armstrong Elementary, Walt Disney Elementary,Montevideo Elementary and Pine Valley Middle School.  Adding more cars will add noise and traffic to all neighboring streets as cars will be looking for places to avoid San Ramon Valley Blvd.

Since safety has always been a priority for the citizens of San Ramon, the City Council has commissioned a Safe Routes to School Program.  The Church of the Valley project is in direct conflict with this very program.

We need to speak up and take action!

If this project is built, the City will get a private school with no community access, a parking lot on the top of a protected creek bank, the removal of trees, and car oil and gasoline pollution into Norris Creek.  Building within the creek setback is dangerous to the environment and to people.  We must protect our natural creek habitats and protect ourselves.

If this project is built, all residents of San Ramon and possibly other neighboring cities will face the precedent-setting implications of allowing a 23,000 square feet commercial building to be built within 15 feet of residential properties. Such a precedent will forever have an impact on future developments throughout San Ramon.  This is a community-wide concern as the City of San Ramon continues to push new development closer to residential properties.

What will we lose? A beautiful natural creek with mature oak trees and native species of animals and birds, and the serenity, beauty, and QUALITY OF LIFE of the San Ramon we all live here to enjoy.

Please sign below to tell our Mayor, Council members and Commissioners to vote "NO" on this over intensified land use which is totally inappropriate for this busy location. Please join us in telling our elected officials that the design, location, size and operating characteristics of this project are not compatible with existing land use and vicinity.
