San Luis Coastal Unified School Board: Postpone the Decision on Closing Teach School

Postpone the decision on the future of Teach, a National Blue Ribbon School until the public has an opportunity to participate in a meaningful discussion about its future. The San Luis Coastal Unified School District School Board and Superintendent Eric Prater, Ed.D have not provided the public with a transparent process outlined in Closing a School Best Practices Guide issued by the State of California in their evaluation of phasing out or closing Teach, a National Blue Ribbon School. Instead they have engaged the public on the topic of capacity and overcrowding, when in fact their issue is a philosophical difference of opinion among Trustees concerning the merit and methodology of schools like Teach.
