PROTECT OUR CHILDREN, REGULATE, TRACK, AND TAX MARIJUANA IN SAN JACINTO

Voters of San Jacinto passed Measure AA to keep our kids SAFE by regulating, tracking, and taxing marijuana if Prop 64 passed. Both Prop 64 and Measure AA passed. Prop 64 allows every household to grow six (6) marijuana plants regardless if the City has a ban or not. It also does not require any regulation, tracking, or taxing of marijuana. A house near a school could grow, smoke, or share with other adults. Currently illegal marijuana cultivation, manufacturing, and sales are already present in the City and are not regulated, tracked, taxed, tested or guaranteed to be safe. Creating a City ordinance to regulate, track, test, and tax the cultivation, manufacturing, and sales of marijuana, creating an easier path to acquire safe legal pharmaceutical or recreational marijuana than home grown. This would reduce the danger of unregulated marijuana, how it's grown, or who it is given to. The City would regulate where, who, and how a commercial business ran, rather than allowing the illegal operations to continue unchecked without the resources to shut them down. Additionally, seed to sale tracking of every plant would occur, identifying who grew it to who bought it, as well as the quality and CBD/THC levels in the product ensuring a safe, clean product appropriate to the buyers needs/wants. Lastly, the tax revenue could be used to shutdown illegal marijuana businesses and pay for increased police and fire in our under staffed City. Without an ordinance to regulate marijuana, State tax revenue would not be available to the City. Support a safer community and sign the petition for the City to adopt ordinances to regulate, track, and tax the cultivation, manufacturing, and sales of marijuana.
