Japantown is important to the entire Japanese American Community throughout California. It is important Japantown is represented by its historic and cultural ties that has import beyond its geographic boundaries. Furthermore, the youth (thus, JCYC) of Japantown are best served by these historic and cultural ties. Thank you for this opportunity to share - Rev. Roger Morimoto, Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Palo Alto

Please keep all of the following within District 5: Japanese Community Youth Council (JCYC), the Nichiren Buddhist Church, and the St. Benedict/St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, all on Pine Street between Octavia and Buchanan. They've done so much to preserve our Japanese-American cultural identity, which is so important. Please do not breakdown Japantown!

NIchiren Buddhist Church next to JCYC is definitely apart of Japantown. Booker T Washington Center is also connected to Japantown. They were in the bottom level of Kinmon in the late 40's-early 50's.

I feelt that it is important to keep the resources of Japapntown together as a unified geographical district both from respect for its historical significance and to preserve the present-day vitality of the area.
