Free public transportation for Bay Area.

The BART system throughout the Bay is priced based on the distance you are traveling- the further you travel, the more it costs. This makes it especially hard for low income employees, who work in the city yet live in the surrounding Bay Area, to get to work everyday. I believe that if all public transportation in the San Francisco Bay Area were to be free of cost then it may become the primary means for getting from one place to another. As a result, there would be reduced air pollution due to less cars on the road and more tax money could potentially be put into improving BART stations all over the city if it becomes the most used means of transportation.
