Save Playland Skate Park

Playland community park is not only home to the Outer Sunsets only skatepark, it also provides a space for community gardening, gathering and fun. The city of San Francisco's Mayors Office of Housing and Community Development has a plan to create teacher housing in this space and our petition is a response to this plan.

The sunset area needs Playland, it needs a space for community to come together and for skaters in the area. Skateboarding culture provides a necessary reminder to the greater society. As an 11 year old said, "Skateboarders won't laugh at you when you fall, because everyone falls." That reminder serves for us to go after our dreams, fail, and try again.

What we are asking for is one of the following options:

1. Playland remains as it is and the teacher housing is relocated

2. The housing project is integrated into the already existing community space.

3. A new space and funds are allocated to community members to create a new community space and skate park.

Thank you for your support and happy holidays. With LOVE and GRATITUDE.
