It’s budget season in San Francisco. For us, that means the Board of Supervisors is voting on two important proposals impacting the future of the Botanical Garden; approval of our lease and management agreement, which governs the relationship between the Botanical Garden Society and the City; and renewal of a much needed revenue source for our Garden, the non-resident entrance fee.
We need your help today, please show your support so we can continue to maintain a world-class Botanical Garden here in San Francisco.
The lease and management agreement is so important – it sets the framework for how the Botanical Garden Society and the City will continue to work together for years to come.
The non-resident fee is providing an important new source of revenue for the Botanical Garden. We are on track to bring in more than $600,000 this fiscal year to support the Garden. This is a non-resident fee only, charging $7 for people who live outside the City to help fund the operation of the Garden and to support education and community outreach programs, including our youth education program that serves 10,000 San Francisco children.
As a supporter of the Garden, we need your help to ensure the Board of Supervisors approves these critical measures. Our community should be proud of the almost 60-year partnership that makes the Botanical Garden – its plant collections, its garden displays and its programs – possible.
