Partial In Person Recruitment at San Diego State

Partial In Person Recruitment at San Diego State
After over a year of the Corona Virus Pandemic, San Diego State University students are returning to campus for the 2021-2022 school year. With this exciting news, many members of the Greek Life community are eager to attend in-person events. For the Panhellenic community, one of the biggest events that are held each year is Fall Formal Recruitment. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, it has recently been announced that Fall Formal Recruitment will be fully virtual. This news has devastated many PNMs and active members alike, as there has not been in-person recruitment since Fall 2019. After witnessing other Panhellenic Councils hold Fall Formal Recruitment, such as at The University of Alabama, it is truly disheartening to know that we cannot do the same. As a community, we ask that SDSU Panhellenic rethinks their decision in having a fully virtual formal recruitment. Amongst all the craziness, we are asking for an ounce of normalcy in our greek experience. As students, much of our time here at San Diego State has already been taken from us. Our university experience is no longer all that we hoped for, nor is it all that we have paid for. On top of this, it is our belief that we can successfully have a safe and COVID cautious recruitment. So please, be the change. Sign this petition and help us make recruitment partially in person!
