Help Save San Diego’s Jewel Jacumba Hot Springs!

We need your help about an environmental travesty that has taken direct aim at the very small and poor rural community of Jacumba, and the diversity of local wildlife that share our wide open spaces.
A foreign developer has submitted a proposal to build a 600+acre 90MW JVR solar facility on best land within our rural village boundary. The JVR project footprint would stretch from international border with Mexico to the I-8 corridor. (The JVR project area adjoins ABDSP land at its northwest corner.)
Our community supports renewable energy production. However, we believe a smaller 300-acre JVR solar footprint is in the best interests of Jacumba's residents whether they are human, flora, or fauna. Our Equity for Jacumba solar project alternative incorporates a beefier north/south restored wildlife corridor that stretches the entire length of the project area and that reserves some acreage for eco-sensitive future growth of our town.
The Equity for Jacumba project is sustainable, environmentally-friendly solar alternative versus the foreign Developers huge destructive project which only cares about financial gain.
Unfortunately time is running out for our town. On July 9, 2021, the planning commission voted 5 to 2 to approve the larger 600 acre JVR project. We need your help to influence the BOS to do the right thing on August 18, 2021 and deny the 600 acre solar project in favor of our reasonable and smaller solar alternative.
