Amy Ross and Sonia Mendoza were Educational Technicians in the Anthropology Lab at San Diego City College in San Diego, California. Together they have enriched the educational experience of countless students through lab activities and fieldwork. They were laid off due to budget cuts and current and former City College students believe this is a mistake.

Amy and Sonia work in concert with Dr. Gross, encouraging students of all majors to pursue their dreams. They provide students individualized attention and facilitate community connections that ensure student success after college. They have organized lab activities for vital classes including multiple Biological Anthropology courses, Artifact Analysis, and Introduction to Archaeological Field work. They have professionally curated thousands of artifacts from an important archaeological site in San Diego and provide access for student and professional research. Removing their positions and the positions of all educational support staff from San Diego City College is a terrible loss for City College Students.

We respectfully ask that Amy and Sonia's positions be reinstated, and wish to voice our disappointment in administration's decision to eliminate the support staff from all SDCC departments.
