SAISD announced to its teachers on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, that it would be incentivizing getting vaccinated by paying only vaccinated teachers, who need to take sickleave because of the coronavirus, 10 days sick leave. Teachers who choose to not get vaccinated, should they need to take sickleave because of the coronavirus, will not be paid.
