Why this petition matters

Started by Gemma Bottomley

I purchased a Samsung Z Flip 3 in September 2021. In February 2022 I reached out to their customer service department after my handset developed a crack along the folding section of the screen. I had my handset for just over 4 months. I was advised (without an engineer even looking at my handset) that the screen was not faulty, but that I had damaged it, and would be expected to pay for any repairs.

Further investigation has proven that many customers have experienced the same problem, yet they are refusing to acknowledge it, simply stating that it is not a common/known fault. I part exchanged my Samsung S20 and paid £450.

Too many people have been left out of pocket due to this design flaw, and consumers should have more protection than the manufacturer deciding it's not a common fault when the evidence on social media suggests otherwise
