This petition is in direct response to the choice of the Mueller planning committee to close the Mueller Parks and public spaces. As a parent and member of this neighborhood, I am concerned for the wellbeing of our children and their ability to access play spaces within our community. The CDC recently updated its website to reflect that it is highly unlikely that the virus transmission occurs through surface contact. The CDC further reinforced data that proves the age group affected by the closing of parks and public spaces are the least likely affected by the virus and the least likely to transmit the virus.

Per the city orders, people should visit parks close to their home, not traveling across the city to visit parks that are open. The choice to keep the parks within Mueller fenced off is a direct contradiction to these orders. With this information, we need to focus our concerns on the wellbeing of our children's emotional and physical development. Families should have the ability to make the choices they see appropriate for individual families and children.

PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION: so our children can go back to playing in our neighborhood. Recent events like the community garden workday and the reopening of the neighborhood pool; are a direct contradiction to the decisions to continue to keep our children out of the Mueller Parks and public spaces. By signing this petition we are asking that all temporary fencing and locks be removed from the parks and public spaces.
