Salisbury House Workers started this petition to Salisbury House

Workers in Salisbury House have been facing a serious dilemma, how to heat up their food? The people of this building have to face costly London Living and adding a bought lunch to the long list of expenses in our daily lives is just not feasible. We would like to request that a microwave be installed in every kitchen to allow us to have a choice on how and what we eat. Lets help each other and our pockets by bringing our lunch boxes in with the knowledge that it can be warmed up to our hearts content.

Want some legal content, here's a snippet:

"The Workplace (Health, Safety, and Welfare) Regulations, 1992, set out the minimum standards in this respect and apply to the majority of businesses in the UK. An employer’s obligations in some areas of workplace welfare are based on the number of people they employ, so let’s take a look at this area first.

A staff restroom should be provided if practical, with space to eat meals and access clean drinking water. If there is no public water supply, a drinking fountain may suffice, or cups and bottled water from a dispenser. Employers also need to offer a kettle to make hot drinks and facilities to heat food if there is no canteen – this could be in the form of a microwave."
