Salesian Cohort started this petition to Salesian College

To conclude each school term, Salesian College unites the Salesian members together in singing the college anthem as a manifestation of the joyous and vibrant nature of the Salesian spirit. This is a tradition that has been continued in the college for as long as most students can remember, characterised by lively chanting, singing and harmony.

Ending term 1 of 2021, the students were met by an unexpected change in the iconic theme, completely deforming the once sensational song into one that was rather dismal and sluggish. The new iteration of the college anthem completely fails to capture the soul of the Salesian students and led to apparent dismay, especially by the seniors who had been exposed to the single version throughout their entire schooling life. The slow tempo, prolonged notes by a choral symphony twists the light-hearted and energetic undertones to be excessively serious and professional.

As students of Salesian College, we propose that the college anthem is reverted back to its former glory so that we once again can proudly sing our song.
