Chris has brought so much to our school. He was so influential in student behavior, he was able to connect with kids on a level that was really truly able to change lives. Chris is one of the very important and valued security guards that worked directly with the student body at West. Chris was recently promoted as someone that travels around the schools of Salem helping to train new Security guards and we couldn't be more proud of him. After his leaving the ripple of his absence has hit this school hard. Behavior has hit a downfall and students are feeling alone and unvalued. We as the students of West Salem High School request that Chris remain in his elevated position but request that he be on our staff for some portion of the week. For example, Chris aids other schools for 3-4 days out of the week but spends 1-2 days at West Salem High School with the students that adore and need him. I know many people that directly benefited from his guiding presence. Students that went from skipping class and failing school to students with a new spark for learning and life! We miss Chris and we miss the inspiration he brought to our school. We formally request that Chris spend some of his time here, at West, where his kids need him.
