Dearham Methodist Chapel is to be sold by auction on July 14th 2022.

As the legal pack is not presently available, we would like, if possible, a condition to be added which will ensure a continuity of community use.

The chapel holds many memories for villagers, happy, celebratory & sad. The site as a whole has the potential to become a much needed community asset.

Dearham doesn't not have a purpose built multi room community space. There have been discussions for many years, regarding the need for a community building, where to locate it, what it should include etc. 

The potential to have a multi use space would encourage groups of different interests, for all ages to gain that sense of community. This in turn will give people the sense of belonging which will have a positive impact on the villagers wellbeing. The possibilities are endless. 

Currently, residents use the available parking, people visiting the Village Hall and those collecting children from school also use this space to park as the roads in the area are narrow and experience heavy traffic, so losing this amenity will negatively impact the local area.

Please show your support and sign the petition for the possiblity of this condition to be added to the legal pack of the sale. The Dearham Methodist Chapel site then has the potential to continue to serve our community and leave a lasting legacy.
