I have been diabetic for nearly 34 years. My sensations for detecting hypos is gradually weakening and a test kit such as the Freestyle Libre 2 would make my life so much better and easier. This kit links to your phone via an app and will alert you if your sugar levels are going either too low or high.

Unfortunately for me, I live in Derbyshire and the PCT will not allow me to use this device to make my life so much better and easier. I am not wanting to be a drain on society, I do work and I do pay my way, but I cannot afford this alone and support my wife, my children and pay all other bills associated with general life. 

I have been discriminated against at school, at college, in the workplace and now it feels like the health system is discriminating against people. I would love to live my life without fear of my sugar levels and this machine would solve a lot of those problems. My life will never be “normal”, but this device could make it seem a whole lot more so.

I am not just doing this for me. I want the thousands of others in a similar position to be able to live their lives to the maximum capacity without worry and fear, not just now, but for future generations to come.
