Saint Viator Class of 2020 started this petition to Saint Viator Faculty and

To begin this petition, on behalf of the Saint Viator Student body, we would like to thank all faculty, staff, and teachers for doing their utmost to benefit us during these challenging times. The coronavirus has spread across the globe in a matter of weeks and has already killed more than 40,000 people. As a result of this, many schools are opting to slightly change their grading system in order to accommodate students. As stated in the title of this petition the student body hopes to accomplish something of the sort.

To name some prominent examples of this, Harvard has instated a grading policy known as "Universal Satisfactory-Unsatisfactory Grading", which boils down to a simple pass or fail. Yale University has also put a similar policy in place. Other local high schools have decided to allow E-Learning to only positively impact students' grades if completed. In more extreme cases, calls and petitions for a "universal pass" have been made.

We do not expect a complete revamp of Saint Viator's grading system, nor are we asking for this crisis time to turn into a work-less break. However, we believe that some accommodations should be made in order to benefit the student body, as well as the teachers during these challenging times.

We appreciate your consideration and hope for change.
