Work without collective bargaining is, at best, coercion. That's bad enough. At worst, it's slavery. And there is nothing to stop it from going bad to worse.

Faculty deserve the right to continue to collectively bargain—this is disgraceful and shameful action on the part of the board. Without faculty you wouldn’t even have a university!!

It is shocking that an institution of higher learning that ostensibly follows Benedictine principles would abruptly abandon any good faith negotiation with the people who perform the essential work--the faculty.
