Jane Gold started this petition to Saint Francis High School

Saint Francis High School, located in Mountain View, California, has just changed the dress code. The new dress code states that all students must wear collared shirts. In the previous year,  only males at Saint Francis were enforced to wear them. This change has angered the students of Saint Francis because they feel that it is unfair to buy a whole new wardrobe just to adhere to this dress code policy. The school is under a dress code, not a uniform which the students feel as if the school is leaning towards. The liturgy dress code was only put into place because of a previous ASB who felt as if the school needed it. If the issue is because of how classy collared shirts appear, there could be other smaller regulations for the types of shirts that students are allowed to wear. Choosing an outfit to wear for school should not be a hassle or take a long time. At Saint Francis High School, students are taught to voice their opinions to create change for what they believe in. Collared shirts can be fine at times, but it’s extremely hard to go through our closets just to find a collared shirt to wear EVERY DAY. They are uncomfortable, expensive and not practical. Students should be allowed to wear other types of shirts as well. With other schools in the area like Archbishop Mitty that are allowed to wear normal shirts, it makes no sense to make this dress code change, especially at this point of time. Please sign and share the petition. Thank you!
