Dear Father Duffy,

We, the undersigned families of Saint Agnes, are looking forward to our children’s upcoming First Holy Communion. We understand that the plan this year is for the children to sit up front, separated from their families. We respectfully ask that you reconsider this decision and allow the children to sit with their families on this special day.

We strongly believe that First Holy Communion is a sacrament that should be shared between the children and their families. Many of us have experienced the wonderful Saint Agnes tradition of walking our children down the aisle and standing with them as they receive this sacrament surrounded by the faith and love of their parents. We fear this spiritual and emotional connection will be lost. We urge you to continue the Saint Agnes tradition of seating the children with their families so that the children can celebrate this next step on their spiritual journey surrounded by their loved ones.
