TO THE ATTENTION OF ALL!!!! We are facing a crisis of cough and cold medication abuse in the teenage community, I am calling on everyone who cares for our future generation to sign this petition! within a group of 30 teens, 1 admits to using cough medicine to get high and 1 in 4 know someone who does or has. with 133 million packaged units of DXM products contained in otc medications, it would be an injustice to deny that teens are easily obtaining these medicines straight from the store shelves....but that's only purchased DXM, what about stolen? It's not that hard, walk-in, grab the product and leave. It really is that simple for teens to misuse DXM and see no monetary repercussions, What about the health aspect of DXM abuse? Of course, you will have long term health effects such as, fatigue, insomnia, restlessness, compulsion to use, bone and muscle aches, and impaired judgement or ability to think clearly. These are minor in comparison to the liver damage linked to ingestion of DXM over several or more days, this can lead to liver toxicity and eventually death! Together we can fight this epidemic by calling on big pharma, all major stores and our state representatives to put a ban on DXM.
