Install allergy stations in public places to include, protect and save lives

Australia is the allergy capital of the world and should be a global leader for the safety and awareness of children and adults who live with life threatening allergies. The provision of general use adrenaline auto injectors saves lives. A prominent globalaai allergy station will spark life saving conversations and also help to alleviate the isolation, marginalisation and the potential for bullying due to allergies in our community.
An allergy station can be life saving in the event of first time anaphylaxis, being caught short without medication or when the medication available is insufficient to control a life threatening reaction prior to an Ambulance arriving. Globalaai's message for inclusivity, for compassion, understanding and a willingness to accommodate life threatening allergies into our community evokes acceptance into our society and is powerfully voiced by the installation of prominent allergy stations in all workplaces. This includes schools, cafes, restaurants, sporting clubs, cinemas and public venues.
We call on Safework Australia to include a statement of the recognition of life threatening allergies at risk of anaphylaxis as a condition that should have special consideration in all workplaces including public venues in a similar way that defibrillators have been mentioned in their Code of Practice First Aid in the Workplace (Feb 2016).
