On 22 March 2017 during a terrorist attack, PC Keith Palmer GM was murdered in the line of duty.
There was a subsequent Coroner's inquest into the circumstances surrounding his death and the deaths of Aysha Frade, Leslie Rhodes, Kurt Cochran and Andreea Cristea.
During this inquest, it was established that Sir Craig Mackay, Deputy Commissioner, Metropolitan Police who was then Acting Commissioner was present at the scene during the time of the attack.
Instead of coming to the aid of a fellow officer who was mortally wounded, he chose to lock himself in his car and do nothing.
He then chose to leave the scene without taking charge or rendering further assistance.
Speaking as a retired Police Officer I am shocked, disgusted and ashamed of his conduct.
I am calling for an investigation into his conduct.
I am demanding his immediate resignation in disgrace.
I am requesting for his Knighthood to be revoked owing to dishonourable behaviour not worthy of a Knight of the Realm.
