Say NO to the displacement of Social Housing Tenants & BAME (Black, Asian & Minority Ethnic) communities from Chrisp Street Market
We oppose to the below planning application that has already been granted by London Borough of Tower Hamlets for the reason that is does not meet the new London plan set by Mayor Sadiq Khan. This application was passed by Tower Hamlets Council officers on 24th July 2018, which will destroy local community and displace many residence and business. The gentrification process used by Harca & Telford homes MUST Stop. We demand that this application treat the local people fairly and all be offered like for like replacement properties and the local people views be taken into consideration. We demand a FULL meaningful consultation and Ballot before the Mayor Of London approves these plans and demand that at least 50% social housing be included in the scheme where currently it stands at 21% also the customer car park remain in this historic market for it survival.
This land belonged to LBTH and was give to Poplar Harca Housing Association for FREE so they could refurbish and improve the living standards of the local community but instead they teamed up with Developers Telford homes and sold out the local public to create 650 new LUXURY HOMES to be sold in the circa of £500,000 each which is NOT affordable by the local public.
The scheme should be for the local community and must take into account their views. We want jobs for locals and this redevelopment will mean loss of many local jobs over the 8 years of redevelopment as business will die during the build process as no compensation has been offered by Telford or Poplar Harca.
WE SAY NO TO GENTRIFICATION AND SOCIAL CLEANSING AND WE WISH TO PROTECT THE LOCAL BAME COMMUNITY THAT HAVE BEEN LIVING IN THIS AREA SINCE THE PAST 5-70 YEARS.
DETAILS OF THE SCHEME ARE BELOW AND ARE AVAILABLE IN FULL ON THE LBTH PLANNING PORTAL ONLINE AND WE REQUEST YOU ALL TO SIGN OUR PETITION TO STOP THESE CO OPERATE MAGNETS WRECKING OUR LIVES AND LIVELIHOODS
