Ensure the Victims of Grenfell Tower are re-homed within their Community

Whilst most of the UK look on in disbelief at their TVs, Newspapers and phones from the comfort of their own homes at the Grenfell Tower Fire Tragedy, those directly impacted face homelessness, loss and bereavement. As the local community rally around to support those affected, we call upon Sadiq Khan and Theresa May to ensure that the victims are given the assurance that they will be re-homed within their community in properties as close to Grenfell as possible.
Looking on property websites today, the 15 June 2017, the 'Catalyst' development at Portobello Square have 7 properties available, 9 properties on the Southern Row development on Ladbroke Grove are available and numerous other property websites list homes for sale in the area.
We request as a matter of absolute urgency that Sadiq Khan and Theresa May and in turn the government, in light of this unprecedented disaster take the unprecedented step of purchasing private property for council/social housing use specifically for the Grenfell Tower Victims within the local area. We need to give them some sense of security and safety - an opportunity for them to rebuild their lives within the community to which they belong as soon as possible.
We cannot allow these people to be displaced anymore than they already have been and allow them to languish in temporary accommodation whilst the country slowly forgets about them.
We owe them more than that.
